Takanosu Station, the first station of the Akita Nairiku Line, is located next to JR Takanosu Station and their platforms are interconnected.
"Odaiko-no-Yakata" is just ten minutes' driving distance away from the station- at there you can see the world's largest taiko drums certified by the Guinness Book of Records.
Besides, there are also many restaurants nearby the station. Try out one of the very best chickens in Japan- the "Hinai-Jidori" chicken.

Aniai Station

Aniai Station

The head office and train depot of Akita Nairiku Jukan Tetsudo Railway are located in this station at the center of the railway. It is one of the interchange stations at where Express Moriyoshi also stops. The station is selected as one of the 100 distinctive stations in the Tohoku (north east) region of Japan.
In the station waiting room, there is a restaurant called "Koguma-tei" serving savoury local dishes and a store selling Nairiku Line original products. Besides, you may want to visit the Ijinkan and Folklore Museum, which tells the history of Ani that once produced the largest amount of copper in Japan. It just takes about two minutes to walk to the museum from the station.
From the station, you can also take a share taxi or local bus to Moriyoshi Ski Resort at Mt. Moriyoshi. It is one of "the 100 flower mountains in Japan" at where you can indulge in the splendid alpine plants and autumn leaves from the gondola.
In just a one-minute walk from the station, there is a morning market opening on days with the number "four" in every month. (The station is handicapped accessible.)

Kakunodate Station

Kakunodate Station

Kakunodate Station is the southern gateway to the Nairiku Line attracting a huge number of tourists throughout the year.
At the station, you can see a Nairiku Line small diesel train right next to Akita Shinkansen (bullet train) "Komachi".
In the ancient time, the area is a prosperous castle town of the Akita. Nowadays, the old samurai residences with trees and profound gates still tell stories about the feudal period. It's selected as an important traditional architectural preservation area in Japan.
Kakunodate is also famous for cherry blossoms such as "Yoshino cherry trees" beside the Hinokinai River (it is designated as a national scenic spot.) and "weeping cherry trees" along the Samurai Residence Street. (The station is handicapped accessible.)
